About Us

KG MOUNTAIN EXPEDITIONS is a locally owned company and operated by James Kagambi (KG) a professional mountain climber and an outdoor instructor with NOLS Africa who has summited 3 highest peaks in 3 continents. He has also represented Africa in the U.N PEACE CLIMB FOR THE WORLD on the Eiger in 1992. KG currently leads trips for NOLS in Chile and North America. (more)

Gear List:
  1. A big backpack in which to put all the equipments.This will be carried by the porter.
  2. A summit pack in which to put personal equipments like water,camera etc
  3. A warm mountain sleeping bag( 4 seasons recomended) - Hiiking boots which should be sturdy and water proof
  4. Camp shoes.Sneakers are ok.
  5. Leg gaiters
  6. Water bottle.If you have camel pack thats okey.
  7. 3 - 4 pairs of wollen socks
  8. Both fleece jacket and pants
  9. Polypro under wear both top and bottom
  10. Water proof jacket with hood(goretex recomended) and pants
  11. Warm mitttens or gloves
  12. Warm thermal hat
  13. Sun glasses
  14. Sunscreen
  15. Head torch plus batteries
  16. Sleeping mat,Thermarest is good
  17. Hiiking poles
